The Wave x GoodThinking
Elevate your surf adventure with practical, shared learning experiences to capture lasting change within your team
A day at The Wave is already unforgettable. Add one of our GoodThinking team sessions and you’ll create something even better: a shared experience that boosts trust, sharpens thinking, and strengthens how your team operates back in the real world.
Hosted by qualified, experienced and accredited executive and team coach Fi Craig, these Team Sessions are available to all groups visiting The Wave, and can be worked around your surfing requirements.
Bespoke options can be created to suit your precise needs, so do get in touch if you’d like something a little different to support your team day.
Option 1: Team Workshops
Build in some learning and reflection- without killing the fun.
Choose from a set of half-day workshops designed to shift team behaviour in small, powerful ways. Each one blends simple tools, guided reflection and (importantly) plenty of humanity. Perfect before or after hitting the water.
Learning to Listen
The skill that quietly transforms teamwork.
We all hear, but very few of us truly listen. This workshop helps your team experience what it feels like to listen for understanding — and to be properly heard.
Better listening means faster discussions, fewer crossed wires, and more creativity. It’s a foundational trust-builder, especially for busy or remote teams who rarely get time to connect beyond the task list.
Business benefit: Higher trust, better collaboration, stronger communication — all of which accelerate delivery and reduce costly misunderstandings.
Especially suitable for: Fast-paced teams, hybrid/remote teams, anyone who wants to feel more “human” together.
Building Trust
The not-so-secret ingredient of high-performing teams.
Trust is what moves people from “doing the job” to “going all in”.
In this workshop we unpack what trust is made of and help each person build their own practical trust action plan. Teams leave more open, more connected, and more able to innovate, challenge and support one another.
Business benefit: A more resilient team dynamic, smoother collaboration, and a cultural uplift that last far beyond the day.
Especially suitable for: Leadership teams, people managers, or any team wanting a healthier everyday culture.
7 Components of High-Value-Creating Teams
A research-backed model to help your team level up.
Using Henley Business School research, we explore what makes teams genuinely valuable to their stakeholders: trust, purpose, self-awareness, behaviours and practical ways of working. The session includes exercises your team can take back into the office.
Business benefit: Clearer team purpose, greater alignment, and a shared language for ongoing development.
Especially suitable for: Any team wanting long-term impact, not just a great day out.
Workshop Cost:
Half-day workshop for first 5 people: £550 (includes briefing call + materials)
Additional team members: £25 each
Example: Team of 10 = £575
Option 2: Reflection & Awareness Sessions
What learning to surf teaches us about how we work.
Surfing feels miles away from the day job- which is exactly why it’s so revealing.
These sessions “bookend” your surf lesson: a short reflective session before, and one afterwards. Together they help the team notice how they approach challenge, excitement, fear, failure, success… and each other.
You’ll explore:
The stories and assumptions you bring to challenge
How you adapt when things don’t go to plan
What you learn about your teammates under pressure
What this means back in the office
Everyone leaves with insights that stick far longer than the adrenaline.
Business benefit: A light-touch but meaningful look at how your team tackles challenge — improving resilience, empathy, and collaboration.
Cost: Half-day £450
Option 3: Group Facilitation
Helping your team think better, decide better, and work better together.
Facilitation helps a group move from muddled conversation to clear, collective outcomes. You bring the people and the topics; we provide the structure, neutrality and process that get you there.
Good facilitation helps teams:
Stay on track and avoid circular discussions
Include every voice (not just the loud ones)
Navigate conflict or tension calmly
Reach stronger, more aligned decisions
Free up the team leader to join the conversation fully
Ideal for strategy days, planning days or big “think together” moments.
Business benefit: Faster decisions, better alignment, and outcomes that would otherwise take weeks of meetings.
Cost: Half-day facilitation + 1hr briefing call: £550
Option 4: Belbin Team Roles Workshop
See your team in a whole new light.
Belbin Team Roles uncover the behavioural strengths (and blind spots) each person brings — beyond their job title. It’s a rich, energising session that gives teams a shared understanding of how to work together in a smarter, more compassionate way.
You’ll get:
Individual Belbin questionnaires and reports
A full team role map
A half-day facilitated workshop using your team’s real profile
Clear strategies for making the most of strengths and avoiding friction
Business benefit: A deep insight into how to get the best from one another — improving performance, communication and everyday decision-making.
Cost:
Briefing, set-up + half-day session: £950
Individual reports: £50 each
Team report: £100
Example: Team of 10 = £1,550
